Maja Markowitz joined b2venture in June 2021 as Investment Manager in the Direct Investments Team, previously working at APX in venture capital as well as stints in private equity at Partners Group and corporate M&A.

Despite her cosmopolitan background, Maja considers herself a Rhinelander at heart and hails from Düsseldorf. “My father is from Romania and my mother from Moldavia - they met in Israel before emigrating to Germany, so I definitely have a complex identity, but the open and friendly culture of the Rhineland is definitely where I feel most at home.”

Maja obtained a B.A in Economics and M.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen. While she grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, it took a while for her to lock onto the venture capital world.

During her time at APX Maja gained valuable insights into the world of early-stage investment, helping structure follow-on investments and working with business angels across the DACH region.
