OpenAI has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Neptune, as it continues to strengthen the tools and infrastructure behind frontier AI research.

Founded in Warsaw, Neptune set out to build tools purpose-built for data scientists. At a time when workflows were fragmented and improvised, the team focused on what truly matters in model development: collaboration, experiment tracking, and knowledge sharing. Today, Neptune has grown into a globally respected platform used by leading AI teams across Europe, the US, and Asia.

As AI research has scaled in complexity, so has the need for better tooling. Training advanced models is an iterative and highly experimental process, requiring deep visibility into how models evolve. Neptune enables researchers to track experiments, compare thousands of runs, and better understand model behavior in real time.

The acquisition builds on a close collaboration between Neptune and OpenAI. By integrating Neptune’s capabilities more deeply into its research stack, OpenAI aims to accelerate learning cycles and improve decision-making throughout the model training process.

“Neptune has built a fast, precise system that allows researchers to analyze complex training workflows,” said OpenAI Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki. “We plan to integrate their tools deeply into our training stack to expand our visibility into how models learn.”

“This is an exciting step for us,” said Piotr Niedźwiedź, founder and CEO of Neptune. “We have always believed that good tools help researchers do their best work. Joining OpenAI gives us the chance to bring that belief to a new scale.”

We are proud to have supported Neptune on this journey alongside TDJ Pitango Ventures and our b2venture angel community. This milestone is also a strong signal of the exceptional technical talent and entrepreneurial ambition emerging from Poland and across Eastern Europe.

We congratulate everyone involved on this remarkable journey, now entering an exciting next chapter.
